Investors' Web Site
A Mayfair hedge fund wanted its web site to provide investors with access to fund performance reports and analytical statistics; it had to be secure, legally compliant and fully manageable.
Solution and Benefits
Our designer came up with a fresh new design, and we designed a workflow that would allow investors controlled access to fund data and downloadable documents, and selected internal users the ability to upload data that would be reviewed and signed off before being made visible to clients.
The site works with other applications, like:
- Microsoft Dynamics CRM, keeping contact and client management in one place;
- CoreFTP secure FTP server, so clients can be given access to a secure file upload area through a single admin screen;
- Windows Server network: the firm's own users are automatically logged in;
The site is entirely manageable through its own admin tools, each one accessible only to specific company users, and every page view, file download, report generation or admin activity is logged; changes to content are approved and signed off before publication, and updates to performance figures are made through an auditable process requiring explicit sign-off, and retraceable to any given date and time.
The firm and its clients have noticed considerable benefits since the web site was first implemented, and it has continued to grow to meet new needs:
- Useful - investors can see reports on fund performance, allocation by region or sector, etc. in tabular or graphical form, and can choose any range of dates since a fund's inception to review historical data.

- Secure - communication between client and site uses 256-bit encryption; passwords are kept in a secure, human-unreadable form and users can be required to supplement their name and password with a six-digit PIN of their choosing.

- Controllable - in-built admin pages provide chosen users with the ability to set up secure file downloads, update content, allocate access to sections, review changes and review and control user details.

- Extensible - new sections can be added to the site, for public or restricted viewing, and are automatically added to the navigation menu for relevant users. Sections can be reordered and can contain subsections, also included automatically in site menus.
